The Manchester Restaurants We’d Recommend Even Now the 50% Off Deals Have Ended

January is a wonderful month. No, really! Despite often being touted as the most depressing month of the year, it’s a great one for foodies in Manchester, with the majority of our restaurants offering up to 50% off deals throughout the month! Being big food fans at Avant PR HQ we indulged in a fair few meals out (it’d be rude not to, after all), so here’s our round up of the places we visited that we think are worth going back to, even now the offers have ended.

Refuge chocolate dessert

The Refuge by Volta

Refuge was offering 50% off its small plates, so when Melissa visited with her family, they got a selection to share and overwhelmingly voted the cod croquettes as the pick of the selection. Melissa reports that the venue itself is absolutely beautiful and the food is to die for – especially the extremely OTT chocolate dessert!

PR Intern Lydia checked out San Carlo’s Fumo this week and shared a seafood platter before a lobster pasta for main – all of which she says was delicious.. Rumour has it the cocktails are pretty tasty, too!

Ply Manchester

A Northern Quarter pizza stalwart, Ply is always worth a visit – the pizzas are tasty every time and the atmosphere is always casual but lively. Melissa went for the nduja sausage pizza with extra olives and paid the grand total of £5 – can’t complain at that!

Busaba has been an office favourite long before it opened in Manchester – it was a must-visit every time we were in London (which is often!) When Melissa visited this month, she got a crab meat pad thai and a range of fish starters, to share, which she says were really really good (yep, that’s two ‘really’s!) Definitely worth a visit!

AlbertsSchloss Manchester

Albert’s Schloss

The popular one in the group, both Ellen and I visited a total of three times over January, indulging in the vegan pizza, the butternut squash strudel and the vegetarian breakfast hash. Feedback from us both is that all of the food was incredible and the venue is one of the best in the city – despite being huge, it has a great atmosphere and the many, many lights around the space are just perfection.

Featherblade is a relative newcomer to the Manchester restaurant scene and is one that we’ve all wanted to try for a while (with the exception of Ellen, who is vegan!), Melissa reports that the steak was worth the £5 it cost with 50% off but although the sides were full price, they were super tasty and worth every penny.

Blind Pig Monton

The Blind Pig

Not too far from the city centre, it’s worth a trip to the Blind Pig in Monton, even despite the fact that their offer is slightly lower than most at 30%. The calamari with citrus mayo is a fantastic starter, whilst the chicken wings and chips for mains was better than good – really nice for local, casual dining.

If you’re still feeling the Christmas pinch, there are plenty of offers still going on through February, too (all detailed here), personal recommendations would be TNQ, East Z East, Harvey Nichols, James Martin, Rosylee and Yard & Coop!
