The Accessories You Need for Your Summer Holiday

Summer holiday packing can be a challenge at the best of times – and even worse is packing for a long weekend with hand luggage only. So to make it that bit easier, we’ve listed the four fail-safe accessories that will give your holiday wardrobe an instant style update and work with everything you pack.

Millie Mack - espadrilles

Espadrilles

It’s not news that espadrilles are an ideal summer shoe, but this season has seen me spoilt for choice in styles! Whichever form they take – from classic slip-ons to sky-scraping wedges – the espadrille generally features a plaited fibre sole and canvas upper. They can be styled with beachwear, dresses, shorts and most of your holiday wardrobe, hence why they’re a style staple for serial holidayers Millie Mackintosh and Emily Ratajkowski

Bella - sunnies

Tinted Sunglasses

Championed by the super model it crowd, tinted sunglasses are back from the 90s. Choose from shades of pink, orange, green and yellow, all readily available on the high street at the moment, to give your holiday wardrobe an instant update. If you’re wary of the trend, a quick Google image search of Bella, Gigi, Kendall and Taylor will give you some serious inspo on how to style your new sunnies.

@adenorah - basket bag

The Basket Bag

Like the Espadrille, the basket bag has summer holiday written all over it. Giant straw-like tote styles make perfect beach bags that you can chuck your sun cream in or get covered in sand before simply wiping down and shaking off.  Practical. Not only that, but they are the bag style this season, with traditional picnic-style wicker basket bags being seen dangling from the arms of influencers around the world (even when they’re not on holiday!) – see Anne-Laure Mais styling hers with espadrilles for double summer hol style points.

Statement earrings

Statement Earrings

Summer holiday outfit packing takes some strategic planning and as the days seem to blend seamlessly into the nights on holiday, this calls for some beach-to-bar ensembles. The easiest way to tie an outfit together is to add some statement earrings – a slick bun and huge pair of statement hoops can make your pool-side denim shorts and top look effortlessly cool, or take a selection of bright, bold danglers to accessorise your beach cover-up and you’re all set for sundowners.

So, if light packing isn’t your thing, hopefully we’ve helped! The only thing left to do now is to figure out how to get all those toiletries bottles into that little clear pouch…
