PLASTIC FREE JULY: EASY SUSTAINABLE SWITCHES TO MAKE THIS MONTH

This month marks the 10th Plastic Free July – a global movement dedicated to reduce plastic pollution. As fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands increasingly assess how sustainable their practices and processes are, as consumers it is certainly becoming easier to make simple swaps in our everyday lives, that help minimise our environmental impact.

At Avant we are, both individually and as a company, passionate about helping to create a more sustainable world, and we’re pleased to work with various brands that place these values at the forefront of what they do.

We’re hugely proud of what our brands are doing to promote sustainability, so here’s a round-up of what they do and how they’re making sustainable lifestyle swaps easy and achievable.

PITT BALM

PITT BALM offers the UK’s first refillable natural deodorant – the gender neutral balms are kind to skin and can be purchased in recyclable tins, or refilled in your own container at zero-waste retailers across the UK. Additionally, the products are organic and free from aluminium salts, parabens and chemicals, and made without using any plastic in packaging or production.

The Cheeky Panda

The Cheeky Panda’s range of bamboo products includes tissues, toilet paper, kitchen towel, wipes and straws, offering an ultra sustainable alternative to traditional products (bamboo grows 30 times faster than other trees), and its products are packaged in cardboard or recyclable plastic, where necessary.

Reswirl

With traditional toothbrushes contributing hugely to the amount of plastic waste making its way to landfill or the wider environment, Reswirl’s ‘infinite toothbrush’ offers an environmentally friendly solution. Operating on a subscription service, Reswirl will send out a new toothbrush every three months and encourage you to return your old one (using the provided recycled packaging), which they’ll then sterilize and pulverize to form a brand new brush.

We’d love to hear about what you’re doing to help ease your environmental impact, as a brand or as a consumer.
