New York Fashion Week: Street Style

When it comes to fashion month in the modern-day, social media generation, the looks worn to shows have become almost as significant as the designs showcased on the runway, and with fashion month kicking off in New York last week, we’ve had lots of great outfits to swoon over both on and off the catwalk. Here I’ve picked some of my favourite street style looks so far:

This look is so pretty, whilst still maintaining a fashion week edge with pumps and luxe layering. Pink is a huge upcoming colour trend, which the fashion pack are pairing with red and mulberry tones, as seen here.

I love this Lauren Santo Domingo look because it’s practical. I know that’s not a fashion answer, but look how cosy; she hasn’t shrugged her coat off her shoulders, it’s all fastened up and it meets the top of her boots! Girl after my own heart. However, she still looks impossibly chic, and shearling is a current trend box she’s ticked.

I love this laid-back look. Layered sweaters and ankle boots are winter essentials to most of us, but the little details make this look; a simple low ponytail, ripped jeans over fishnets and small box bags are all major at the moment.

She had to be in this list somewhere; Olivia Palermo, street style royalty. True to her style, she is clashing textures and prints, and it totally works. Her delicate silk neck scarf is making me want to run into the Northern Quarter and buy a vintage scarf ASAP.

I’m not sure how suited this is to the -6 degree streets of New York, but she looks fabulous never the less – and her outfit features the accessory of AW16, the now iconic Gucci belt. This ensemble (minus the fur) is giving me major Billie Holiday vibes and is a look I think I’ll bank, to recreate in the warmer months.
