International Coffee Day: Our Favourite Local Coffee Spots

When it comes to #agencylife, good coffee is essential, and at Avant there’s nothing we love more than discovering new places to grab our daily caffeine fix.

In celebration of International Coffee Day today, we’ve rounded up our favourite local spots to grab a coffee in Manchester’s Northern Quarter and nearby.

Foundation

Foundation Coffee (Lever Street)

Aside from being coffee experts and serving up takeaway filter coffees for a bargain £1 every morning, the Lever Street destination is a great workspace and is host to activities such as yoga and movie nights in the evenings.

JBF

Just Between Friends (Tib Street)

This cute coffee nook is right on our doorstep and serves up our favourite Americanos. Grab a seat outside if the Manchester weather permits.

Ezra and gil

Ezra & Gil (Stevenson Square)

There’s no better spot in the NQ to sit in the window and watch the world go by whilst you sip your latte. The lunch menu is also not to be missed.

AGS

Ancoats General Store (Great Ancoats Street)

Grab a coffee and cake after browsing the aisles at Ancoats’ much-loved convenience store. The coffee shop doubles up as a bar in the evenings offering craft beer and cocktails, and plays host to Scrancoats every Thursday, with different vendors serving up street food offerings each week.

Pollen

Pollen Bakery (Cotton Field Wharf)

The perfect spot to sit by Ancoats’ picturesque marina with a coffee, it’d be rude not to try Pollen’s famous loaves and cakes whilst you’re there. If you’re a dog lover you’re in for a treat too, as the owners’ chow chow Maru is in regular attendance and it’s a haven for local dog walkers.

What are your favourite places to grab a coffee in Manchester? We’d love to hear your recommendations.
