Golden Globes 2017: The Best Dressed

Last night’s Golden Globes Awards were yet another red carpet event not to be missed. Today I’m taking a look at my best dressed from the night and spotting some A-list trends; yellow was a popular colour, with many turning to more simple dresses with statement jewellery to complement.

Emily Ratajkowski

Yellow really suits Emily against her olive skin tone and dark hair and this Reem Acra silk dress flows in all the right places. Not one afraid to bare all, Emily kept her look modest in this more covered up look and it actually really suits her! With the diamante middle, Emily kept it simple with her accessories – silver drop earrings, barely there sandals and a faux bob.

Reese Witherspoon Golden Globes 2017

Reese was another A-lister drawn to sunshine yellow for the event, keeping her look simple in a fitted Versace gown. Yellow can be a hard colour to pull off against blonde hair, but the dress looked great on Reese, who pulled her hair back to allow the structured detail on front of the dress to shine. The look was finished off perfectly with a statement silver Tiffany & Co necklace.

Olivia Culpo Golden Globes 2017

Going for a daring patterned dress can be a risk, and adding a full style with layers is asking for a potential fashion disaster, but Olivia Culpo looked lovely last night wearing Zuhair Murad. Going for a Spanish inspired look, Olivia completed her outfit with milkmaid braids and oversized brooch earrings.

Lea Michele Golden Globes 2017

Lea Michele

I think you either love or hate this purple slinky sequin number Lea is sporting, and quite frankly I think she looks great. The shimmering Emanuel Ungaro number looked lovely against her olive skin and newly fuller fringe. Completing her look with silver studs and neutral makeup with a nude lip, Michele completed a very glamorous yet girly look.

Nina Dobrev Golden Globes 2017

Nina Dobrev

The Vampire Diaries star opted for a classic red gown, contrasted with a green small clutch, at this year’s Golden Globes. She finished her look with a bold red lip and 1920s inspired curly hair draped over one shoulder, and the final look was classy and elegant.
