This week my Friday favourite is plant and flower stall, Flourish. Flourish have two stalls in Manchester, situated in St Ann’s Square and on Tib Street (down the side of Debenhams), and they’ve become my go-to for botanical buys, particularly for decorating my new apartment.

I picked up a couple of succulents, a rubber plant and some ivy (apparently ivy aids sleep, so it’s currently residing on my bedroom windowsill) to add to my existing collection of cacti, and snapped up some really nice bargain plant pots in Wilko’s too.

My favourite thing from this week has to be my new Topshop mules.

I’ve refrained from buying spring clothes so far, because I’m still wearing nothing but layers upon layers of jumpers, and also, storm Doris. But when I came across these leather mules, I knew they couldn’t wait until spring, and also probably won’t be in stock for much longer. I lived in mules last spring/summer so used this to justify them to myself.

I love a pointed toe and the small heel height means come spring, I’ll be able to dress them up or down. And I have to mention the fact that they’re clearly inspired by a very similar Chanel pair!

My Friday favourite this week is, in all honesty, quite an overdue one as it’s a show I’ve been obsessed with for an age now, Suits.

I started watching the show on the recommendation of Ellen and Melissa, after I caught up with Scandal and was at a loss as to what to watch next, and although sceptical after episode one, I’ve quickly become infatuated – I’ve got Netflix on whenever I have a spare second and have quickly made my way to the final season, which I’m now half way through and longing for it to never end.

For those of you that don’t know, Suits focuses on the everyday activity of a New York law firm, with the inimitable super lawyer Harvey Specter and his sidekick not-really-a-lawyer-but-pretending-to-be-one Mike Ross. But they’re not the only superstars – Harvey’s secretary Donna, paralegal Rachel (played by Prince Harry’s new love, Meghan Markle) and firm partners Louis and Jessica are also fantastic characters (some might say some of the best!). I don’t want to say much more for fear of ruining the story, only that every episode of Suits makes me want to move Avant PR HQ to a high rise with impressive city landscape views, and to enforce a powerdressing only dress code, too.

Any suggestions for what to watch once I’ve finished the series would be much welcome as I know there will be a huge Suits-shaped hole in my life pretty soon.

On Wednesday, Melissa and I headed to London for a day of meeting with press. We had a busy day and being back in the big smoke was as exciting ever. We visited lovely journalists from, LOOK, Reveal, NOW, Closer, New!, Star, Hello! and Fabulous magazines. We chatted the day away, showing them our exciting clients’ newest products, and just generally catching up with features they were all working on.

At the end of our busy day, we headed to Euston for our train with a bit of time to grab something to eat – so headed to a new burger place that had opened up in the station. Prime Burger was a busy little restaurant and offered eight minute order to delivery service, or a money back guarantee – which is great for people in a rush for their trains!

We both ordered the truffle burger with aioli sauce and chips; it was really good and the meat was cooked well, which was just what we needed to finish off a tiring day in London. It’s always so much fun to visit London, but so nice to come back to the North – welcomed by Storm Doris of course!
