Friday Favourites: 18th November 2016

I returned from an 11-night trip to India this week, during which I travelled across the Golden Triangle, including Jaipur, Ranthambore, Agra, New Delhi, Amritsar and Rajistan, among others, and so it just had to be my Friday favourite!

I saw so many amazing temples and monuments on my trip, as well as the Taj Mahal, and spent two days on safari, too. For the duration of our travels, I was humbled to see how happy the locals were, despite everybody being touched by poverty in some way; to not care about technology, the latest gadgets or fashion or other throw away items was refreshing to see. They wake up every morning and their only goal is to survive, whether that includes walking miles to find water, or heading to heavy manual jobs for the equivalent of about £5 a day.

It was humbling to be around the people of India and to have an insight into their religions, lives and happiness really was inspiring and put into perspective what is actually important. I loved India and would definitely go back – the whole experience was so refreshing.

Richmond tea rooms Manchester

Billy Martin, PR Assistant

My Friday favourite goes to Manchester’s Richmond Tea Rooms. Having heard a plethora of great reviews about the afternoon tea that is served there, I was keen to try it out and my friend’s birthday last week was the perfect opportunity. The café is tucked away in a side-street in the city centre and the décor is based on The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in Alice in Wonderland. We opted for the Queen’s Tea, which included sandwiches, quiches, scones, cakes and macaroons… amazing. I would definitely recommend Richmond for the afternoon tea experience but the menu also includes alternative breakfast and lunch options too. I will definitely be returning!

Spectrum vegan and cruelty free Marbelous makeup brushes

Jazmin Cabrera, Director and Co-Founder

There’s only one possibility for my Friday fave this week – Spectrum’s fabulous new Marbelous collection in black! The vegan, cruelty free and PETA approved makeup brush brand (and client of ours) hits it out of the park with every single launch – and this is no exception. The 12-piece range includes nine of Spectrum’s most popular brushes for the face and three for adding details to the eyes and lips and as always, features the softest bristles you will ever experience! It’s sure to be a sell out, so add it to your Christmas list this very second!

The-Missing-series-2

Ellen Kelly, Director and Co-Founder

I’ve been loving BBC series The Missing since the second season kicked off six weeks ago, and with this week’s episode nearing the finale, it was inevitably an explosive one.
In case you haven’t been watching, the thriller series revolves around the supposed return of abducted schoolgirl Alice Webster, which isn’t quite what it seems. I won’t give out any spoilers in case you’re planning on catching up, but every episode has upturned more creepy background to what’s shaping up to be a sinister and gruesome kidnap story.
There are some great characters (my favourite is French detective/resident superhero Julien Baptiste) and a brilliant cast, including Keeley Hawes and David Morrissey, most recently of The Walking Dead fame – it’s definitely worth a watch if you haven’t already. I can’t wait for the last episode, where hopefully all the mystery will unravel!
Beauty and the Beast

Melissa Hassan, Account Executive

My Friday favourite this week is the trailer for Disney’s new Beauty and the Beast.

As I’ve always been a big Disney lover, I’m usually fairly sceptical of what production studios might do to the much loved classics of our childhoods. No mere mortal can ever live up to a Disney princess, surely? But I have to say that Emma Watson makes a stunning Belle and looks just perfect for the role, and of course, the Beast!

I love how it looks just like the story has been brought to life (Chip is still so cute), and if the recent re-make of The Jungle Book is anything to go by, roll on March 2017.

It seems it’s not just me that can’t wait for the release, the trailer has set a new record as the most watched in 24 hours!
