Avant PR’s Favourite Fashion Month Beauty Looks

In an office full of women with a love for all things fashion and beauty, new season trends are something that are taken very seriously. So, with fashion month coming to an end, here are the Avant PR team’s favourite catwalk beauty looks:

When it comes to beauty, I always find myself pining for fresh, dewy looks that I can easily replicate. Whether I’m on my commute, watching TV, or having a final scan on my phone before bed, I always seem to have my Pinterest app open, searching for the same look again and again. I love make up looks that I can wear day or night and a go-to look I can do quickly is always a winner.

For this reason, my favourite makeup look from the AW15 catwalks has to be by Marni (above left). It’s a less dewy version of what I would usually go for and yet I still love it (if you know me, loving a beauty look that doesn’t heavily use a bronzed dewy highlighter is a very big deal).

I love the use of nude lipstick to sculpt the cheeks and temples, creating a barely there feel and the grey cream shadow has just made it to the number one spot on my ‘to-buy’ list.

When it comes to hair, the sleek twisted knots at the Victoria Beckham show (above right) stood out for me as a perfect get up and go look that is practical yet incredibly stylish. It complements the collection’s sophisticated combination of chic tailoring, swooshing midi skirts and patchwork fabrics perfectly.

In terms of dressing myself – both in terms of what I wear and how I do my make-up – I always find myself gravitating back to the same looks. Forever struggling to decide whether or not I prefer girlier looks or more minimalist, simplistic ones, I always end up back on the same theme and colour palette. For this reason, I love the route Dutch designer, Iris Van Herpen, took when presenting her A/W collection.

In order to let the haute couture do the talking, Herpen opted to keep the make-up simple, while hair was pulled into a slicked back up-do. The overall look ensured that the models were the perfect canvas for the designer’s infamously breathtaking cuts and use of texture and achieved a harmonious juxtaposition between delicate and fierce. This will definitely be a look I attempt to recreate at home!

I have a love/hate relationship with winged eyeliner, in that it is always my beauty go-to for a night out but often leaves me frustrated when I can’t get it perfectly even. The AW15 make-up at Dolce & Gabbana, however, is so pretty that I plan on reconciling with my eyeliner pencil to try and recreate this soft, winged look. Paired with a full brow and subtle pinks lips, this look is a flawless example of fuss-free elegance and the relaxed up do frames the face in an understated way to perfectly complement Dolce & Gabbana’s theme of motherhood.

I loved the sixties vibe at the Fendi show – the headbands and drawn on lashes nodded to icons of that era such as Twiggy and Brigitte Bardot. The rest of the models’ faces were kept nude and minimal, allowing the eyes and hair to make a real statement, which paired beautifully with the oversized shapes and chic tailoring on the catwalk.

Grunge was definitely a strong theme at Alexander Wang, with smudged smokey eyes, wet look hair and moody expressions all making an appearance. The wet look is a key trend for hair at the moment and while the look was extreme, it added a new dimension to grunge glamour.

It’s rare that you see me without eyeliner, but this 3.1 Phillip Lim look may just encourage me to give it a go. The pared back eyes and skin teamed with statement lips and brows is the perfect every day look – it’s low maintenance but pulled together. A winning combination.

My favourite hair look had to be this Michael Kors style. The simple, undone and messy yet stylish feel makes it looks like something that could be easily replicated without a hair stylist on speed dial and is so versatile, too. Perfect with haute couture, or dressed down in jeans, this messy low-slung ponytail is definitely one to remember.
