23rd Screen Actors Guild Awards: The Best Dressed
Who doesn’t love awards season and starting the day by poring over every dress from the night before? Last night’s SAG Awards were no exception, with glitz and glamour in abundance, so I’ve selected my five best dressed of the evening.
Emma Stone
I can imagine the pressure is on for Emma Stone to choose her awards ensembles, with all eyes on her as LaLa Land cleans up at every ceremony! She hasn’t got it wrong yet and this velvet and lace lily pad embroidered Alexander McQueen dress is no exception. The dreamy combination of textures is classy and feminine and suits her wonderfully.
Maisie Williams
GOT star Maisie channelled old school Hollywood glamour with a slinky pink Charlie Brear silk gown and art deco style clutch. The look is finished perfectly with classic red carpet waves and a scarlet lip.
Yara Shahidi
Yara took a red caret risk in wearing so many bright colours, but I just love it. The purples and blues look stunning against her skin tone and the cut of her Naeem Khan number fits her perfectly, for an overall look that’s eye-catching yet elegant.
Emily Blunt
Maybe it’s because I’m a little bit in love with her and she can do no wrong in my eyes, but does Emily Blunt ever look less than perfect? This nude Roberto Cavalli gown features beautiful, delicate floral embellishment and I love how the pink in her earrings and makeup pick out the colour in the dress. It takes someone super chic to pull off the criss-cross lacing, but she does so brilliantly.
Caleb McLaughlin
I’m a little ashamed to admit, I haven’t seen Stranger Things, so there’s no bias when I say Caleb was one of my best dressed males! How dapper? He rocks that velvet bow tie and those loafers, and I don’t know another 15 year old who could pull off a gold bee broach.
