Milan Fashion Fashion Week: Our Favourite Beauty Looks

As Fashion Month continues, we’re still struggling to tear ourselves away from the catwalks, constantly devouring the fashion and beauty trends to come from every show. Milan is always a particular source of beauty inspiration, with statement red lips being the iconic look from the Italian shows and this year didn’t disappoint – though there were plenty of other gorgeous looks to fawn over, too. Here, I round up our favourites:

Dolce & Gabbana SS18 beauty

Dolce & Gabbana

It would be wrong to start with anything other than the Italian brand. Sticking to its signature look, models sported red wine lips, winged eyeliner and impressive headwear – from the understated to the very overstated. It’s the perfect vampy Winter look and one I’ll definitely be trying to replicate.

Philosophy SS18 beauty catwalk look

Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafin

The look at the Philosophy show was quite the opposite to that at D&G – a natural base hosted stained lips and hair was in natural waves. This is the perfect ‘I woke up like this’ every day look.

Max Mara SS18 beauty look - catwalk MFW

Max Mara

A bit of a combination of the first two looks I mentioned, Max Mara went for bare eyes paired with a bold lip and understated hair. Another one that’s well worth replicating – start with the Philosophy look in the office and slick on some bold lippy for Max Mara style as you head for that post-work drink.

Bottega Veneta SS18 catwalk beauty look

Bottega Veneta

The models at Bottega Veneta sported that elusive glow for their show faces, with the perfect level of makeup making it look like they’ve spent a week at a spa and never missed an hour of sleep in their entire lives. Lips were the ideal shade of ‘my lips but better’ and the whole look had a radiance about it that I’ve spent a very long time searching for.

Versace SS18 catwalk beauty look

Versace

The nude tones of this Versace look, with a hint of gold, is exactly how I want my face to look over Christmas party season. The base is muted enough to not look overdone, while the flash of gold on the eyes and the non-matte nude lipstick gives it enough of an edge to show that you’ve made an effort. It even lets the model get away with some heavy accessorising. Oh and, if you hadn’t noticed it, slicked back hair, or hair behind the ears, is a key trend for next Summer – it hit almost every catwalk.

We’re looking forward to seeing what Paris brings next and adding a whole arsenal of new looks to our beauty bags.
